Kip Longinotti-Buitoni

Kip Longinotti-Buitoni...Continued

In 2006, Kip launched CompassionWorx, a non-profit organization that links resources with small, humanitarian, on-the-ground operations in underprivileged and under-served global communities in an effort to promote public awareness and action.

Kip launched Cyber Compassion (www.CyberCompassion.org) in 2007. This interactive site and program allows US schoolchildren to fund, through their own initiative, the building of a clean water supply in an impoverished community (initially, in Africa). The site’s live-feed web communication allows the children to have ‘modern day pen pals’ in the community that they are aiding. The children are able to witness, videotape, and document the changes they are helping to create, as well as see first hand what can happen when a community has a clean and accessible source of water.

Kip joined Dr. Bob Arnot in the filming of "Dr. Danger", a television series for Time Warner’s high-definition MOJO Network (aired October 1st, 2006). During the filming, Kip headed out across Africa on BMW motorcycles to ride with Dr. Danger as his sidekick, Nurse Fearless. She also served as South Africa Coordinator, On-Camera Personality, Writer, and Still Photographer on the shoot.

Currently, Kip is launching "Kip TV" (www.kip.tv) as a real-time chronicle of her activities as a journalist, adventurer, and humanitarian. Her travels have included trips to the remote reaches of Venezuela’s Amazon River and both Colombia and Brazil to visit and cover the plight of the Yanomami people. In South Africa, she visited World Camp Organization (www.worldcamps.org) to bring attention to children of child-headed households affected by HIV.

Through intensive, month-long leadership and adventure programs, students develop essential communication skills through the study and creation of documentary arts. Since Hall co-founded Open Roads in 2001, more than 98 percent of its student participants have been accepted to college.

Trevor was formerly the Deputy Director of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program (CSCIP). At CSCIP, Trevor managed the corporate partners program for this city-sponsored, public-private partnership and assisted in the recruitment of Motorola, The Boeing Company and United Airlines as sponsors. He also arranged business and economic exchanges between Chicago and its 27 sister cities (e.g., Paris, Shanghai, Milan and Delhi), including visits to Chicago by presidents, mayors and other international delegations. Additionally, Hall initiated and managed CSCIP’s National Geographic-Silk Road Educational Partnership and the World Fashion Chicago Runway Show, an annual event, hosted by Mayor Daley, designed to enhance Chicago’s international fashion profile.

Trevor is also in the business development division for the real estate firm of Sheldon Good & Company, where, in his first two years, he was a listing agent on more than $20 Million of real estate transactions. Previously, Hall was a Harvard University teaching fellow for Dr. Robert Coles, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Harvard Professor. He also served as associate editor of DoubleTake magazine, an award-winning quarterly journal that highlights the extraordinary stories of everyday life.

Hall belongs to the Harvard Club of Chicago and the Harvard Faculty Club, and is a member of numerous real estate organizations. He earned his graduate degree from Harvard in 1999 and his B.A. from Western Washington University in 1997.
